Jeremy's Grade 5 home

Core mathematics, a gentle writing progression, and one serious inquiry at a sustainable pace.

First gate

Finish summer before starting Grade 5

The Grade 5 baseline begins in the week after the Summer Field Guide presentation—expected in late August. If Dali or the capstone runs later, this course moves too. There is no catch-up backlog.

Full course Grade 5 Math Baseline, 18 anchors, six unit applications, and evidence pointers Weekly progression Literacy ladder Reading source pool, fading writing frames, monthly revision, and durable sample pointers Inquiry and capstone Question, evidence, action, reflection One Semester 1 inquiry plus a school-aligned Exhibition or accurately labelled independent capstone

Default maximum

Three sessions, no backlog

  1. Math anchor: a new idea or guided problem.
  2. Retrieval/application: mixed practice, evidence, or an offline task.
  3. Literacy/inquiry: reading, discussion, writing, research, or building.

During heavy school weeks, one core math session plus reading or oral explanation is enough.

Durable evidence

The browser stores pointers, not the only copy

Final artifacts live under jeremy/portfolio/ in the repository. Confidence and next-step fields on the site point there, so an August-to-May comparison survives a new device or cleared browser cache.
